Cycles of Life provides a comprehensive overview of the living world, from the simplest single-celled organisms to the vast web of Earth's ecosystems. Through original microvideography, 3-D animations, video field trips inside laboratories, and footage shot around the world, these programs present the processes that energize nature and the interrelationships that sustain life. Beyond describing the latest discoveries in the field, the series examines the scientific method, showing how biology is a dynamic process of inquiry.
Viruses, Bacteria, and Protistans
The science of classification, from the Carl Linnaeus-based system to today's five kingdoms.

Exploring Biology in the Laboratory is a comprehensive manual appropriate for one- or two-semester introductory general biology lab courses. Clearly-written and engaging activities emphasize the unity of all living things and the evolutionary forces that have resulted in, and continue to act on, the diversity that we see all around us.
| Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?) This review is from: Exploring Biology in the Laboratory (Loose Leaf) I had a great teacher for this class, but I really didn't like this book. A lot of the homework had random questions that I would have to look up on the internet to find the answer for and it didn't explain things very well. If I remember correctly it also had words bolded and then wouldn't give definitions or anything for the bolded words. Also the spider on the cover isn't pleasing. I'm very afraid of spiders, even pictures freak me out. So could the next edition just have fish or like a person? Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?) This review is from: Exploring Biology in the Laboratory (Loose Leaf) Ok, I may be a little biased because my favorite professor is the author of this book, but it is great. He knows his stuff and knows how to make science interesting and fun. Very proud of him! Love you Dr. Pendarvis!!! |
